Hi, I’m Ellie Tashkova, CPA, CMA, and the founder of Elevate Accounting, LLC.
My accounting career began in 2016 at a public accounting firm in Spokane, Washington, where I managed the books for about 20 small and mid-sized businesses while mastering QuickBooks Desktop. I later transitioned into private accounting, working primarily with QuickBooks Online. Eventually, I advanced to a senior accountant role at a fast-growing company in the energy storage industry in Coeur d’Alene, ID, working alongside great mentors and amazing colleagues.
After reflecting on my career journey, I realized that what I enjoyed most was providing full-service accounting, cleaning up and reconciling messy books, and processing payroll. This realization inspired me to start my own practice—giving me the opportunity to do what I love while also achieving a better work-life balance.
I thrive on identifying discrepancies, resolving them, and ensuring business owners have accurate, reliable numbers to make informed decisions. I see myself as a strategic partner, helping them in their journey to success by working alongside them and their tax preparers. I focus not only on ensuring that the books are accurate and tax-ready but also on helping business owners understand what their numbers mean. I believe "Better Books. Better Business." is more than just a tagline—it’s my commitment to providing accurate financials as the foundation for success.
When I’m not balancing books, you’ll find me exploring the outdoors—hiking, snowshoeing in the winter, or putting together a jigsaw puzzle. The name Elevate Accounting is inspired by my love for the mountains.
